Projects information:

JAMES KANE NURSERY (JKN)
8am- 5-45pm Monday - Friday

James Kane Nursery was founded in 1994. On the 25th February 2005 JKN celebrated a decade of being in operation.

JKN provides an affordable quality childcare service for children aged 2-4 years. JKN provides 32 places for children living within Lambeth at competitive and subsidised rates.

The children's learning objectives are based on the national curriculum. JKN does much more than catering for the needs of young children. It also provides support for parents by running Positive Parenting Classes in conjunction with SureStart.

JKN future plan is to continue to promote the value of good Christian based nursery service. Added to that increase access for children aged 0-5 years.

Lighthouse Saturday School provides supplementary education and music classes for disadvantaged children and young people aged 4-16 years.

The supplementary education covers three core subjects English Language, Mathematics and Science. LSS also supports and prepare children and young people for examinations. In 2005 many of the young people did very well in their GCSEs.

In the future LSS plans to better target the specific needs of the children, especially those preparing for primary SATs tests in years 2 and 6.

LSS runs a music school which offers Keyboard Classes. Scholarship is offered to children with parents on benefits.
