Theme: The Disciplines, Dimensions and Dynamics of Prayer – When God chooses to take you through an unpleasant situation instead of taking you out – how do you deal with that?
It is difficult to go through it. God does not seem to hear you when you cry. He seems to want you to go through it! Some people lose their faith at such times, but they are an important time for our faith! Consider Psalm 23:4 – “though I walk through the valley of the Shadow of Death!”
Sometimes, the necessary path is not the pleasant path, but it achieves what God wants to do. This is like Jesus walking through Samaria or Joseph begging his brothers for his life! God did not take Joseph out of that situation, and only by the end of the story do you understand what God is seeking to do. We walk by faith and not by sight!
