At the AC Reach Prayer Meeting, we heard from Pastor Andris Miller. He detailed how he came to lead the church in Platone, Latvia, and the challenges of growing a church in a small town. These are the Latvian challenges for prayer in 2024.
The church faces challenges, both external and internal. People distrust anything that is not traditional. The church is expected to be in a box. Because their surname is known, the community makes assumptions. We want to open the church and bring people in.
Also, people are not keen to go into mission, but there are many opportunities to partner with other churches. People always tend to be busy. It isn’t easy to get into events. There are very few full-time ministers.
