London, a city where many work, live, and visit, is steeped in rich church history. The streets are lined with sites connected to influential leaders like Wycliffe, Watson, and Wilberforce, whose legacies continue to speak volumes. The British Museum holds items associated with biblical characters such as Abraham, Hezekiah, Daniel, and Paul.
Members of TAC London Area Churches, led by London City Mission staff, joined Christians nationwide to trace the steps of these great leaders. They were inspired by the faith that drove these individuals to serve their generation. As it says in Hebrews 13:7-8, “Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.”
Mission London 2024: A Walk to Remember
As part of Mission London 2024, TAC London Area and ANC invite everyone to a special historic walk of faith on September 14, from St. Paul’s Cathedral to ANC. This event promises to be both an outreach and a retreat. It offers a chance to reflect on the lives that have shaped the world. See christianheritagelondon.org.
The walk will also honour John Wycliffe, a forerunner of the Reformation. He translated the Bible into English despite facing persecution. His story is a testament to the power of faith and the impact of serving one’s generation.
Participants will pray at key locations and engage with passersby, embodying the outreach and retreat spirit. The event aims to encourage attendees to serve in their capacities, following the example set by past leaders.
