Dear Supporters,
A very happy New Year from me and Rachel to you. Thank you so much for your interest and support in 2025. You can find a review of last year on our Facebook page ‘Eden Church Pecs’. In this email newsletter, one of Eden’s leaders, Timea, shares a diary account of the month of December. Timea’s daughter, Dori, translated the article for us.
Enjoy, Nigel

God gave us many testimonies during the month of December. The Lord blessed the sowing of our entire year, and the growth of our congregation was the most visible during this month. During the Advent season, we were able to take part in the Advent fair held in the main square of our city. We did not sell anything there; instead, we were able to share the Gospel with people. This was a fantastic opportunity for Eden, provided by the city leadership for small congregations, including ours.
In the first week of Advent, we held an Advent wreath-making celebration, which was attended by nearly 50 people. Eden’s new building was filled with people, and we were able to experience a joyful and blessed occasion together. These events provide wonderful opportunities for us to build relationships more deeply and for the name of Eden to become more widely known here in Kertváros. For this occasion, we had already decorated our hall in Christmas attire and welcomed participants with a shared meal.
Our children’s clubs are also being attended by more and more people. At each occasion, 10–15 children participate, arriving together with their parents. At the same time as the children’s club, we hold a parents’ club for adults, where we talk about the Gospel, and during these gatherings there is always an opportunity to share personal testimonies of faith. The children also always receive a teaching from the Bible, around which the entire children’s club is built.
At the beginning of December, we placed 20 small gift packages throughout Kertváros, each containing a beautiful message from the Bible as well as an introduction to Eden. Several of the people who found these gifts have since attended our events, becoming new visitors to the Eden House. We held our Christmas event on December 14, with 20 families — nearly 50 people — in attendance. For this occasion, we prepared a puppet show and gift packages for the children. Our pastor, Péter Katona, shared a short Christmas message from the Bible, speaking to the families about the true gift of Christmas: Jesus Christ. At the end of the event, we hosted the guests with food and had the opportunity to talk personally with everyone. Each family was gifted a jar of honey with a written blessing, which they received warmly and with gratitude.
We are immeasurably thankful to God that day by day He gives us opportunities to proclaim His name here in Kertváros. God blessed the year 2025 for us, and we stepped into 2026 in faith, where we can continue to expect the Lord’s further blessings.

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”Isaiah 43:19 (NLT)
With love, Timea
