Getting Rid Of Hatred From The Heart
Speaker: Brother John Livingstone
Definition of hatred: A disgust/dislike or anger, often including a wish to hurt/remove/destroy what is hated.
Scripture References: 2 Samuel 18:33, Genesis 24:7,
Key points:
- Hatred can be stored
- Do not store hatred. It will grow, and other harmful things will grow from it.
- Hatred is like a roaring lion
- Hatred is exhausting, it steals your joy, prayer and worship
Questions
- Does that make someone say this is serious business?
- Why do you think we are dealing with this subject?
- “How do you get rid of rubbish? You must first identify rubbish. If it is rubbish, why do you hold on to it?”
- How do we feed anger/hatred? Let’s pray, “Lord, help me to guard my heart”
Hymn: My song is love unknown
My song is love unknown my Saviour’s love to me; love to the loveless shown, that they might lovely be. Oh, who am I, that for my sake my Lord should take frail flesh and die?
May God never let us be pushed to the point of decision where we have no option but to hate.
