Pentecost and the Life of the Believer – Saturday Morning Prayer

Chorus: We will celebrate our God (let His banner be raised)

Prayer
  1. Offer a prayer of thanksgiving
  2. Thank God for the gift of life and for answers to prayer for the sick.
  3. Pray that as we observe Pentecost, we will experience the Holy Spirit’s power anew and see His outpouring in all our gatherings.
  4. Pray for the March for Jesus event, asking for divine presence, protection, and that others recognise us for who we are, and there will be separation from the troublemakers.
  5. Pray that at the event there will be salvation of souls, that the speakers will be anointed by the Holy Spirit to speak God’s heart, and that many will receive Jesus.
  6. Thank God for answered prayers

Pentecost and the Life of the Believer

When you think about Pentecost, what is your favourite scripture on the Holy Spirit, and explain why in 2 brief sentences.

Some of the scriptures:

Acts 1:8, John 14:26 and Romans 8:26 (He helps us in our infirmity)

Pray in the Spirit

Chorus: You are Alpha and Omega…we worship you, our God, you are worthy to be praised

Speak out in your prayer language – one after the other.

  • “Thank you, Holy Spirit, for being inside of me- the Resident Helper”
  • “Wherever we gather tomorrow, there will be Pentecostal expression; those who are dry, you will fill anew”

Share your experience of your encounter with the Holy Spirit?

  • “May we each know the reality of coming to the throne room (the warmth of His presence and feel His love and presence”
  • May we acquire new vocabulary in the Holy Spirit, the balm of the Holy Spirit

Why the qualification of the “Holy” Spirit? Is there a difference between the Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost? Because there are other spirits, but His is holiest.

Song: Come, Holy Spirit, I need you

Hymn: I need thee ev’ry hour

“May we know you, help us, Lord, in every way and every day.”

“The Holy Spirit is my Companion and my Helper”

“The Holy Spirit is a master chess player, and you need to be on His side”

Bless the Lord!
