Do also remember to join the War Room Prayer. Click here for more details.
Preparing to return to in-person services, we have a day of prayer and fasting at the end of October. Plan from now to be there.
Prayer
Prepare yourself for prayer. Know the power of the saving sacrifice and the blood shed to wash us from sin. Invite the Holy Spirit to join you in your devotion to empower you. May you know His will to pray in power.
We are instructed to pray for those in power (1 Timothy 2:1-3); therefore, we pray for the Prime Minister and the cabinet in their time of trial and turbulence.
Spiritual Song: Create in me a Clean Spirit
Considering what we have heard regarding recovering the heart of true Christian ministry and service, pray for yourself. Pray that you may improve in the many areas needed to minister and serve. Areas to consider – humility, heart, strength, focus, and uprightness.
Finally, consider all who are sick and lift them to the Lord in prayer because we know our God as The Lord, Our Healer!
Improving Yourself
Hymn: O for a Heart to Prayer my God – Sheet music
Brother Theo spoke briefly on the subject of improving ourselves.
Consider the example of Demosthenes, whose initial oratory the Athenian Assembly refused to hear, left and improved himself. He became known as a statesman and orator. “His orations constitute a significant expression of contemporary Athenian intellectual prowess and provide insight into the politics and culture of ancient Greece during the 4th century BC.”
God knows you, and what you have been through. Yet He continues to strength! You must improve – going from good to great!
Refurbishment
The building work continues at pace. Some have said that progress is being kept secret, forgetting that updates are emailed out regularly, as well as being on this website. Let us improve by reading emails and updates sent out by the church.
Homework
Who will remember me for good? Next week Sis Love Karikari will lead on this subject.
On the subject of “What makes a Church a home”, think about what can disturb and undermine a home. Write something and bring it for next week!
