Wise in Your Own Eyes? Saturday Morning Prayer

Are you wise in your own eyes? Join us as we seek the face of the Lord in His strength rather than our own. The Saturday Morning Prayer meeting is ready to receive like-minded hearts.

The meeting runs from 8 am to 10 am. You can find Zoom details on this page.

Remember to join the War Room Prayer and the Youth War Room Prayer.

Prayer

Chorus: I will bless the Lord

Thank the Lord for His protection over you, your congregation, and your assembly. He covers the many challenges that churches face.

Praise God for those who minister in various ways, from the minister on the platform to the one who opens the doors to those who turn up early to pray. Every one blesses the Lord.

Thank God for unity among the people. Togetherness has been key to the successes achieved by the Church.

Intercede for those facing health challenges as the year comes to an end. Pray that the hand of God will deliver the sick and strengthen the weak.

Pray for the “Appearing before the Lord as Families” gathering on Saturday, 4 January!

The Man Wise In His Own Eyes

Scripture: Proverbs 26:12

How do we recognise when we are wise in our own eyes? Are we teachable? Do we listen? Do we read scripture and do it? Is there any acknowledgement of others over ourselves?

We must learn humility. Consider the ultimate humility of Naaman in 2 Kings 5. This chapter has so many lessons. Take time to reflect on it.

Homework

Consider the various characters in this chapter in the light of a man wise in his own eyes. Consider writing something like “The problem with Gehazi!” or one of the other characters.
