Theme: Empowered to Confront and Conquer Shame – We all carry moments of failure; some public, some private, and some we’ve never shared with anyone.
Yet hear this today: Jesus is not in the business of throwing stones. He is in the business of restoration.
In a fresh look at John 8:1–11, Deaconess Tope Aiyere offers a timely and powerful message that calls us to respond to others’ failures with grace. As the message unfolds, we’re invited to release our own shame, embrace forgiveness, and accept grace for transformation.
Throughout the sermon, attention turns to the three main characters in the passage: the Accusers, the Victim, and the Saviour. While it’s easy to assume we’d never play the role of an accuser, this passage encourages honest self-examination. Surprisingly, many of us may find ourselves aligning with the Accusers—weaponising shame to feel superior or, alternatively, using it as a smokescreen to conceal our own faults.
So where is grace in all of this? Have you ever prioritised proving a point over someone’s feelings? Must shame define a person’s story? And how do we discover forgiveness, restoration, and a path forward—even after deep, public humiliation?
Listen to the message or read the sermon notes and encounter the Saviour who never recoils from our brokenness. Shame isolates. But Jesus steps into it—with grace.
Isaiah 61:7 says, “Instead of your shame you shall have double honour, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be theirs.”

Join Us
We meet in person at the All Nations’ Centre, Tyers Terrace, London SE11 5LY. You are very welcome to join us. All our Sunday Services start at 9.30 am. The doors open at 8.30 am, and the prayer service begins at 9 am. The All Nations’ Centre is where the community meets with God as a congregation. Please help us to make it a welcoming environment for all.
There are many advantages to meeting together. As the writer of the book of Hebrews writes, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25) Do not miss this opportunity to meet and encourage your brothers and sisters! Often, we provide personal ministry and one-to-one encounters. Do not miss the opportunity to meet with God and be transformed.
