The 10 plagues God used in Egypt each one was used to judge the 10 gods of the nation. He was showing He is all powerful and did many wonders. In the same way – God has dealt with sin and everything that is evil and has made a way of escape for mankind.
Holiness is needed so that we don’t have to live like the World. We need to live in separation. We need to cultivate the disciplines that help us move away from evil and live in freedom and fulfill our purpose in this life.
Lord forgive us for seeing you as a transactional God – a sort of slot machine – just to get things from God.
God is a God of holiness and calls all who know and love Him to be holy so that we can be more like Him – living the lives He created us to live.
God knows we have physiological needs. safety, security, belonging and love.
Self actualisation – achieving one’s potential – God wants us to be successful !
Eph. 3;21. – God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think.
Holiness is not being disengaged with the world, but actually requires we connect with people ,socially, educationally, spiritually and in every way and show them a better way to live.
As It is written – be holy as God is holy – 1 Peter 1:15-17
The call to holiness is a call to participate in God’s holy nature. – having escaped corruption of the world. We are in this world but we are no longer of the world.
We are all on a journey.
Romans. 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus – because we are radically loved by God. It is a wonderful gift from God, through the facility of prayer we draw on the holiness and life blood of Christ.
Let us realise that God requires we live differently, it’s not supposed to be a power struggle. It’s about knowing Him for ourselves, that our names are written in the Lambs book of life .
Let us allow God to do wonders in, through and among us for His glory.
