The Press widely reports that Christians face current ongoing persecution in India and Pakistan.
India
The ruling parties in both countries are hardline Hindu and Muslim, respectively, and do little to prevent violence against communities of other faiths. In Manipur (a state in northeast India on the border with Myanmar), Hindu mobs have ransacked and burnt down over sixty churches and synagogues, displacing communities. The High Court has refused their claims quoting false counter-claims of violence by Christians.
Pakistan
In Pakistan, though communities are growing, Christians face the threat of violence from their neighbours daily. A pastor, who is planning to return to Pakistan, shared a disturbing video at a prayer meeting highlighting the level of violence. A Muslim woman pulls and drags Elderly Christian women to the ground by their hair, whilst others mercilessly beat them. People just look on.
Please pray for these communities. Ask the Lord to continue to strengthen them. Pray for the pastors who are going out there to strengthen and support them.
