1. All were greatly encourage that forty six people prayed to receive Jesus despite the relatively small number of participants in the pilot. That 13% of these were still in discipleship some months later and that 6% of responders were attending church is very positive.
2. We recognised that it is a challenge to change church culture; this has been a slower process than anticipated.
3. Those churches that embraced a consistency of approach saw the greatest harvest. Retaining a faithfulness to the grace that God has imparted is essential while sensitively listening to the voice of Holy Spirit.
4. Where there was success this often reflected a “watering of the ground” through previous time invested in evangelism.
5. Going forward, it is important to draw people into discipling relationships from a multiplicity of approaches, not just stranger evangelism on the streets.
6. One to one discipleship remains the key to success BUT this needs to be supplemented by drawing people into relational networks and social support at the earliest opportunity. The churches who did this appeared to have the best results.
7. It would have been helpful had every church involved managed to engage a wider team at the outset rather than relying so significantly on the church leader who is invariably already very committed to a large number of things.
