Theme: Pilgrims Must Make Progress, By Moving From Good To Great On The Journey To Authenticity – Every Christian is a pilgrim, travelling with purpose, conviction and hope. Although we live on this earthly plane, we know our true home is with our heavenly Father. Yet many believers drift into a version of Christianity centred on career success, better marriages or improved finances. Heaven becomes a pleasant bonus rather than the blazing focus of our hearts. Scripture challenges that mindset and urges us to set our affection on things above (Matthew 6:19–21; Hebrews 11:13–16).
Our progress on this Christian journey should be visible and intentional. Paul encouraged Timothy to devote himself to Scripture, teaching and growth so that his advancement would be evident to all (1 Timothy 4:13–15). Moreover, we must pursue authenticity, refusing to live a fake or shallow Christian life (1 Timothy 1:15). Because of this, the theme for the next two months blends insights from Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan, Good to Great by Jim Collins and Journey to Authenticity by Sonny Misar. Together, these books remind us that pilgrims must keep moving forward, pressing upward and embracing transformation.
The Call to Move From Good to Great
Progress requires honest self-reflection and God‑assessment. As we walk with the Holy Spirit, He shines His light on areas that need refining. He reveals attitudes, habits and hidden motives that must shift from good to great. This journey demands humility because growth often begins with uncomfortable questions.
Questions That Expose the Heart
- Why did Cain become so angry that he murdered Abel?
- What fuelled the rift between Jacob and Esau?
- How did the tension between King Saul and David begin?
- Have you ever considered the Ephraim spirit and its implications?
Each story exposes subtle issues of competition, insecurity and jealousy. These forces creep into families, churches and relationships, creating chaos when left unchecked. Pastor Abraham Sackey’s message highlights how these attitudes often start quietly, yet they grow quickly when ignored.
Listen to Pastor Sackey’s message and allow the Holy Spirit to speak deeply. As you do, you will recognise subtle patterns that hinder growth and discover fresh strength to move forward. Pilgrims must make progress, and with God’s help, we will journey from good to great as we pursue true authenticity.

Pilgrims Must Make Progress – Beware the Spirit of Competition
Join Us
We meet in person at the All Nations’ Centre, Tyers Terrace, London SE11 5LY. You are very welcome to join us. All our Sunday Services start at 9.30 am. The doors open at 8.30 am, and the prayer service begins at 9 am. The All Nations’ Centre is where the community meets with God as a congregation. Please help us to make it a welcoming environment for all.
There are many advantages to meeting together. As the writer of the book of Hebrews writes, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25) Do not miss this opportunity to meet and encourage your brothers and sisters! Often, we provide personal ministry and one-to-one encounters. Do not miss the opportunity to meet with God and be transformed.
