Refurbishment – Unexpected discoveries may spoil your day, but they open the door to saving tomorrow from trouble and disappointment!
One of the delights of building work is what you might dig up. It is also one of the terrors!
When our predecessors built the All Nations’ Centre they built it over a drain. This week, it was discovered that water was seeping up from under the floor. The water made some of the new floorings unstuck.
While this was unwelcome and means the contractor will need to relay the bathroom floor, it is good news it is discovered now.Â
To prevent future expenses caused by damp treatment, the contractors will now waterproof the entire ground floor area.
Main Hall Progress

The builders are starting to shape the main hall into its final shape. You can see the paint on the walls, the cladding, the stage light fittings, and the roof space framework. It is looking more and more like those early artists’ impressions presented to us what seems like years ago.Â
Outside the main hall, the decoration of the entrance hall and stairs make it look very smart. It will be a joy when we finally return.
It is almost time for the building crew to spend a well-earned Christmas break with their families. Before they leave, the leadership send a thank you message to the crew along with a small food gift.
“On behalf of the All Nations’ Centre leadership and members, we wish those working on our church refurbishment project a happy and enjoyable Christmas with your family and friends and a prosperous New Year.”
It will not be long before the building is ready to receive the church! Will you be ready! It is time to ask “Lord, build your church!”
Look at the Resources page with all the reflections and prayer resources, and revisit some of our sermons over Christmas.Â
