What can we learn so that we can say to one another, “Don’t be a Jeroboam?” Join us as we seek the face of the Lord and walk with those whose example was recorded so that we can do well. The Saturday Morning Prayer meeting is ready to receive like-minded hearts.
The meeting runs from 8 am to 10 am. You can find Zoom details on this page.
Remember to join the War Room Prayer and the Youth War Room Prayer.
Prayer
Chorus: We Will Celebrate Our God!
Lift up your praise unto our God. Do not come empty-handed, but “enter into His house with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.”
As the Lord instructs through His word, pray for the Prime Minister and ask for wisdom and unity for him and his ministers.
Chorus: We Have Come to be Touched By The Lord!
Are you ready to receive His blessing? We are not afraid to pray for the miraculous today. Lift up your voice to the Lord and speak into all the situations you might see as impossible.
Don’t Be a Jeroboam
Consider the life of Jeroboam from 1 Kings 11-14.
Don’t help God! There is no need to force a prophecy to come to pass. Jeroboam’s actions were expedient:
“Expedience is the quality of being convenient and practical, even if it is immoral or improper. It is the act of doing something that serves one’s own interests or goals, regardless of the consequences for others or for ethical principles. For example, a politician may use expedience to justify compromising on their values or promises in order to gain power or popularity.”
Yet, despite having impressive credentials and skills, he lacked the one thing he needed to avert utter disaster: A relationship with God.
Homework
Continue to ponder Jereboam’s life and the subject of how to undo a prophetic word. Write something down and bring it to the discussion next week.
