Watch and Pray

Christian Seek Not Yet Your Repose

‘Christian! seek not yet repose,’

hear thy guardian angel say;

thou art in the midst of foes;

‘watch and pray.’

Don’t let your guard down. Awareness – Of the adversary and of God’s protection

What does it mean to “Watch and Pray”?

Glorious things of thee are spoken – “With Salvation’s walls surrounded thou may’st smile at all thy foes.”

  1. 1 Samuel 22:22 “I knew that day…” Watch and Pray
  2. Pray about watching and praying – we need to be on our guard. To have a God kind of consciousness (as opposed to a mind on the enemy)
  3. Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit. Luke 10:21
  4. Jesus groaned in the Spirit. John 11:33

Are you “In the Spirit?” When did you last rejoice in the Spirit?

  • Pray one after the other: Lord take us to the place where we see what You are doing and join along in prayer. (Intercede)
  • One of our brothers is scheduled for a leg amputation. Let us pray for God’s guidance and support for the family during this time.
  • Pray that we may speak a word to those who are disturbed and bring God’s calm.
  • Desire to be an effective Christian! To speak a word into a life to lift the burden.
  • May we move in realms of power, in the realms of the Spirit, in the realms of authority. Amen.
