Theme: Lessons in Spiritual Warfare – The Christian life involves warfare. Every believer who says “yes” to Jesus steps into a battle. Demonic forces stand arrayed against the Church, against every believer, against our children, and against Christian families. Anyone who belongs to Christ becomes a target of Satan and his cohorts. Because of this, we must understand the enemy, the war, and the way we overcome.
The Enemy and the War
The enemy attacks aggressively. He uses every tool and device he can find. The adversary comes at us directly by attacking our health, our mental well‑being, our emotions, and our spiritual stability. He also comes against us in the workplace or through pressure on our children and loved ones. Christians often face intimidation, harassment, and hostility in public spaces simply because they profess faith in Christ Jesus as Saviour and Lord.
Even inside the Church, the enemy pushes forward. False teachings spread. People deny the Bible as final authority. Others re‑frame, re‑interpret, deconstruct, and deny essential truths. Some even deny the Lordship of Christ. Because of this, we must stay alert and understand the nature of the battle.
In the final message of this series, Pastor Emmanuel Mbakwe takes us through our key text, Ephesians 6:12. This Scripture reveals the nature of the warfare we face. The battle is not physical. We do not fight flesh and blood. Instead, we confront principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. These forces operate in organised, disciplined hierarchies. They influence individuals, families, communities, cities, regions, nations, and even continents.
How We Overcome
However, God has not left us without defence. He has equipped us with a powerful spiritual arsenal:
- The armour of God
- The name of Jesus
- The word of God
- The blood of Jesus
- Our testimony
- Prayer
Pastor Mbakwe also explains how demonic forces infiltrate the seven “spheres” or “mountains” of influence. He then leads us in strong declarations and focused prayers that strengthen our stance and sharpen our discernment.
We stand in a real war, yet we already have the victory. When we understand the enemy, recognise the battleground, and use the weapons God provides, we can overcome.

We Do Not Wrestle Against Flesh and Blood
Join Us
We meet in person at the All Nations’ Centre, Tyers Terrace, London SE11 5LY. You are very welcome to join us. All our Sunday Services start at 9.30 am. The doors open at 8.30 am, and the prayer service begins at 9 am. The All Nations’ Centre is where the community meets with God as a congregation. Please help us to make it a welcoming environment for all.
There are many advantages to meeting together. As the writer of the book of Hebrews writes, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25) Do not miss this opportunity to meet and encourage your brothers and sisters! Often, we provide personal ministry and one-to-one encounters. Do not miss the opportunity to meet with God and be transformed.
