The Young Minds Upper Room Experience was held in the Catford cell group meeting hall, St Laurance church hall, in Catford. It was an opportunity for young people to experience the Holy Spirit personally.
Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” – Luke 24:49
Youth from across London and abroad joined us late on Friday evening. The Ark worship team led us into the presence of the Lord to start. Afterwards, Pastor Victor Jibuike expounded on the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
As Pentecostals, we believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Every person who receives salvation has the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. However, God demonstrated that there is an immersion in the Holy Spirit that changes a person and empowers them to work for the Kingdom of God. The Apostles experienced this on the day of Pentecost. Though a trusted disciple, Peter failed to stand for Jesus at his trial. However, after his experience of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, he stood up in Jerusalem and preached a sermon to which about 3,000 people responded.
Pastor Victor left everyone with little doubt that the same anointing was available today. Young adults joined and testified of when the Holy Spirit touched them. Afterwards, the pastors and elders prayed for and anointed the youth.
The Youth Experience the Holy Spirit
The elders and pastors anointed the young people in a symbolic expression of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. It was evident that The Spirit fell upon a number of the youth. The Ark worship team ended the service as we began, with rejoicing, thanksgiving and dedication to the Lord.
There was a prevailing expectation that great things had been started right here.
