A New Generation

A New Generation

Tragedies are being played out around the world. God is in the business of raising a generation into such a changed and dark world. A new generation is being raised in the footsteps of those who have gone before.

Key Scripture: 2 Kings 2

It is in servanthood that we discover how to lead. Elisha learned how to lead by serving Elijah. Gilgal was a place on which history pivoted. It was a place where they recognised they were no longer slaves.

Two generations who must work together must understand the commonality between these generations: That our God is the God who brought people out of slavery. The Elishas (the younger generation) must recognise the Elijahs in the room.

Elijah took Elisha from Gilgal to Bethel, where Jacob first recognised God as real. From there to Jericho, where God brought victory through conflict. Finally, they came to the Jordan. It was the place to leave the past behind and move into the future. They had to cross over, just as you must pass through all these places.

The world is waiting for an Elisha generation who will carry Jesus into the communities where they live. Listen to the whole sermon:

A New Generation

Join us

We meet in person at the All Nations’ Centre, 13 Tyers Terrace, London SE11 5LY. You are very welcome to join us. All our Sunday Services start at 9.30 am. The doors open at 8.30 am, and the prayer service begins at 9 am. The All Nations’ Centre is where the community meets with God as a congregation. Please help us to make it a welcoming environment for all.

There are many advantages to meeting together. As the writer of the book of Hebrews writes, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25) Do not miss this opportunity to meet and exhort your brothers and sisters!
