The key to a successful Refurbishment is long-term thinking.
The original goal for the refurbishment project was November last year. The discovery of the unexpected caused delays. Asbestos, leaks in the roof, an outdated electrical installation and lastly, water under the main church floor. Some of you may remember having to rip up rotten wood at the back of the auditorium. After digging a trench in the floor, the culprit was discovered.

A downpipe that drained rain water from the roof did not connect to the existing drain. Instead, it simply soaked the ground. That discovery, though costing both time and money, ensured that future generations will not have to be concerned about the foundations of the building rotting out from under them.
The delay also gives us time to consider our own lives, our motives, our ways, before we return to in-person service. How will we interact with others? How will we support the church? Who will volunteer to sweep the carpet and lay out the chairs each week? Who will write news for the website to inspire people? Who will go out to bring people to the Lord and to share in what is reaped at the All Nations’ Centre?
Our personal foundations are as in need of protection against rot as the church building!

Cooking up a Storm
Finally, one last look at what is happening in the Kitchen! The latest plans have been updated and the work has already begun!

This artists impression shows what the new kitchen will look like once finished. Hopefully, it will rustle up an appetite for our return, which perhaps is now more weeks rather than months away!
Get ready!
