Theme: Divine Directives and Expectations – As followers of Christ, we serve God not out of obligation, but from a place of worship, transformation, and belonging. Romans 12:1–5 outlines three foundational pillars for authentic service, each one shaping the flavour of our offering.
Worshipful Service
True service begins with surrender. We offer our bodies, time, gifts, and energy to God. This act of devotion transforms ordinary tasks into holy worship. Service ‘as unto God” is flavoursome service.
Transformed Mindset
Paul urges us to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Kingdom service rejects worldly attitudes like selfishness, pride, and competition. Instead, it embraces Christ’s humility. This mindset shifts our motives and purifies our intentions.
Humble Belonging
“We, though many, form one body.” Godly service doesn’t seek applause. Service is not about standing out but about fitting in; each person playing their part, honouring others. This unity reflects heaven’s harmony.
What Flavour Does Your Service Carry?
Many claim to serve God, yet their actions reveal self-serving motives (human flesh and desires). This has to do with the MINDSET with which the service is offered. At times, we serve out of duty, convenience, or expectation of reward. However, divine directives call us to serve with love, sacrifice, and purity. Service is an act of worship. These are the FLAVOURS of Godly service.
In this message that invites deep internal reflection, Elder Soji Oguntonade reminds us: “Service has a flavour.”
To discern it, we must taste it. The proof of the pudding lies in the eating. Psalm 34:8 invites us: “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!”
So, what aftertaste do we leave in people’s hearts? Bitterness or grace?
The choice remains ours. Let us purpose in our hearts to offer flavoursome service; one that makes Christ attractive to the world.
God will bless you as you do so. Amen.

The Mindset and Flavour of Service
Join Us
We meet in person at the All Nations’ Centre, Tyers Terrace, London SE11 5LY. You are very welcome to join us. All our Sunday Services start at 9.30 am. The doors open at 8.30 am, and the prayer service begins at 9 am. The All Nations’ Centre is where the community meets with God as a congregation. Please help us to make it a welcoming environment for all.
There are many advantages to meeting together. As the writer of the book of Hebrews writes, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25) Do not miss this opportunity to meet and encourage your brothers and sisters! Often, we provide personal ministry and one-to-one encounters. Do not miss the opportunity to meet with God and be transformed.
