The Problem of Unanswered Prayer

Prayer is a lifeline—and it has no substitute. For every believer, it is a divine invitation to commune with God, to pour out our hearts, and to align our lives with His will. Scripture doesn’t just encourage prayer—it commands it.

“Pray without ceasing…” — 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Even Jesus, the Son of God, modelled a life steeped in prayer. His example is both profound and practical. Yet despite this, many Christians wrestle with a sobering reality: what do we do when our prayers seem to go unanswered?

When Prayers Go Unanswered: What Should We Do?

If you’ve ever felt like your prayers are going nowhere, you’re not alone. The Bible addresses this mystery, giving us clarity in our confusion.

Start by checking your heart
Psalm 66:18 reminds us that unconfessed sin can be a barrier. Take time to reflect—are you harbouring anything that might hinder your prayers?

Align your requests with God’s will
Not all “No” answers mean silence. Luke 18:1–8 teaches us to persist in prayer, especially when our desires align with His purposes. Keep praying—He hears you.

But Is There Ever a Time to Stop Praying?

Surprisingly, yes! Join us as Pastor Ebenezer Gyamera unpacks the reasons to stop praying and encourages us in this message; unanswered prayer isn’t a sign of neglect, it’s an invitation to reflect, realign, and remain steadfast.

Keep Praying—God Will Come Through

Waiting on God is not wasted time. It’s a sacred season where trust deepens and faith matures.

Let your faith be both challenged and strengthened as we explore this vital topic together. Questions are welcome, and so is honest wrestling. After all, it’s in the waiting that God often does His deepest work

Join Us

We meet in person at the All Nations’ Centre, Tyers Terrace, London SE11 5LY. You are very welcome to join us. All our Sunday Services start at 9.30 am. The doors open at 8.30 am, and the prayer service begins at 9 am. The All Nations’ Centre is where the community meets with God as a congregation. Please help us to make it a welcoming environment for all.

There are many advantages to meeting together. As the writer of the book of Hebrews writes, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25) Do not miss this opportunity to meet and encourage your brothers and sisters! Often, we provide personal ministry and one-to-one encounters. Do not miss the opportunity to meet with God and be transformed.
