Happy Administrative Professionals’ Day

National Administrative Professionals’ Day, also known as Admin Day, recognises the professionals who keep an office running smoothly. Therefore we celebrate these professionals on the Wednesday of the whole last week in April of each year. The day recognises the work of secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists, and other administrative support professionals. Central to any business, these professionals keep an office organised and efficient.

The day in the life of an administrative worker is varied from moment to moment. While organisation is key to their success, their flexibility and ability to handle the unexpected make them valuable to any business.

Some of their responsibilities include managing appointments, drafting letters and memos, booking business trips, coordinating appointments, and planning meetings.

Administrative professionals compile data and research information, too. Consequently, their organisational skills mean they pinpoint information quickly. This helps keep the executive on schedule, whether in transit or with a client. They are central to an office or business running efficiently.

Essential to Church Health

Administration is key to a healthy church. Every person has a place in the church and is gifted according to the gifts of God. Just as a CEO is not paid to sweep the factory floor, it is a recognised principle that those gifted to minister the Word of God should not spend their time in administrative tasks. This was why the apostles appointed seven men full of faith and the Holy Spirit to carry out the administration of the daily food distribution.

It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. – Peter (Acts 6:2)

The gift of Administration enables our presbytery to function in their calling to the Glory of God. As such, it is a calling with an anointing.

Of the first seven administrators, one was Philip the Evangelist. It was he whose actions sent the Gospel to Ethiopia, and he had seven daughters who prophesied. Becoming a church administrator could be the beginning of a fantastic spiritual journey.

If you want to explore what it means to experience the gifting of an administrator, we would be happy to accommodate you. Please use the Contact Us form to register your interest, and someone in the Administration team will get back to you.
