Ties That Bind And The Reason For The Season

Theme: They Shall Call His Name Immanuel – What makes someone commit wholeheartedly to another person, an organisation, or a cause? Conversely, what drives people to walk away from relationships, promises, or communities? These questions matter deeply, especially during the Christmas season when we reflect on love, faith, and commitment.

True commitment requires more than words; it demands reasons rooted in God’s truth. Therefore, we must ask: what legitimate things of God compel us to honour our promises, intentions, and relationships?

On the other hand, distractions abound. “Lions”, sirens, and dazzling sights tempt believers and destroy faith. They lure hearts away and cause many to make shipwreck of their spiritual journey. However, the message of Immanuel, God with us reminds us that Jesus Christ gives strength to resist and courage to remain faithful.

This teaching, anchored in the Christmas season yet reaching beyond it, highlights the ties that bind us together in Christ. Ps Sackey explores biblical examples to show how Jesus, the true reason for the season, enables us to live with integrity, love, and enduring faith.

Ties That Bind And The Reason For The Season

Join Us

We meet in person at the All Nations’ Centre, Tyers Terrace, London SE11 5LY. You are very welcome to join us. All our Sunday Services start at 9.30 am. The doors open at 8.30 am, and the prayer service begins at 9 am. The All Nations’ Centre is where the community meets with God as a congregation. Please help us to make it a welcoming environment for all.

There are many advantages to meeting together. As the writer of the book of Hebrews writes, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25) Do not miss this opportunity to meet and encourage your brothers and sisters! Often, we provide personal ministry and one-to-one encounters. Do not miss the opportunity to meet with God and be transformed.
