Theme: Let Us Pray – Today’s sermon focuses on Matthew 6:6. When Jesus calls us to shut the door, He does not ask us to shut God out; instead, he urges us to shut distractions out. The private place of prayer is where public faith is formed. God shapes hearts in secret long before He displays lives in the open. What flows visibly from us is grows from what happens invisibly between us and God.
The greatest reward of prayer is not what God gives, but God Himself; His nearness, His presence with us. From that presence flows peace for anxious hearts, strength for weary souls, clarity for confused minds, and transformation that only He can bring. Never forget this: you never pray into silence and you never speak into emptiness. Your Father sees what no one else sees. He meets you where no one else can go, and He responds in ways only eternity will fully reveal.
In a world filled with noise, uncertainty, and brokenness, in our nation, in the church, and in our families, we urgently need for men and women who will dwell in the secret place. People who carry the presence of God into everyday life. When we live our lives from that place, we bring God’s kingdom where He alone reigns, we bring peace into confusion and joy into sorrow.
May we be a people who meet God in secret, so that His glory may be revealed through us in the world. Amen.
In this week’s sermon, Deaconess Tope Aiyere:
- Reminds us that true prayer never aims to impress people but to encounter God.
- Explores the barriers that stop us from dwelling in the secret place, shows us how to abide there daily, and what we risk when we choose not to.
- Highlights the call to dwell where our loving Father meets His children, transforms us, and rewards what no one else sees. A place where we are fully seen, deeply loved and graciously rewarded.
It’s time to rebuild the altar of prayer. Let’s return to the secret place! Let’s remain steadfast in and out of season. If you do not yet have a relationship and if you would like to become a Christian, now is the time! Click here to learn more.

Join Us
We meet in person at the All Nations’ Centre, Tyers Terrace, London SE11 5LY. You are very welcome to join us. All our Sunday Services start at 9.30 am. The doors open at 8.30 am, and the prayer service begins at 9 am. The All Nations’ Centre is where the community meets with God as a congregation. There are many advantages to meeting together. As the writer of the book of Hebrews writes, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25) Do not miss this opportunity to meet and encourage your brothers and sisters! Often, we provide personal ministry and one-to-one encounters. Do not miss the opportunity to meet with God and be transformed.
